Artificial Intelligence Statement

Concerning the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools

CUBO, A Mathematical Journal, recognizes that AI–based tools are increasingly used in academic research and scholarly writing. While such tools may assist authors in improving clarity, language, or formatting, their use must comply with principles of academic integrity, transparency, and responsibility.

The use of AI tools must not replace the authors’ intellectual contribution, scientific judgment, or responsibility for the content of the manuscript. In particular, AI tools may not be listed as authors, nor can they assume responsibility for the originality, correctness, or validity of the results presented.

Authors are required to disclose any use of AI tools in the preparation of their manuscript, specifying the nature and purpose of such use (e.g., language editing, grammar checking, or formatting assistance). The use of AI tools for generating mathematical results, proofs, data, or scientific conclusions without proper human verification is not acceptable, and neither is listing as references nonexistent bibliographic items hallucinated by AI tools.

All authors remain fully responsible for the content of their submissions, including the accuracy of results, originality of the work, proper citation of sources, and compliance with ethical standards. The Editorial Board reserves the right to request further clarification regarding the declared use of AI tools and to take appropriate action if undisclosed or inappropriate use is identified. As such, if any of these ethical concerns are not properly addressed, we will reject submissions or even retract accepted manuscripts, regardless of the stage they are in CUBO's editorial flow.
